After the Exodus… came Genesis.

Every achievement is built on the accomplishments of those that have gone before. Early astrologers across millennia and across the globe formulated a variety of systems to try to correlate patterns in the sky with events on Earth. They did a lot with no modern tech, using only what they could observe in the night sky and document on clay or paper.

Michel Gauquelin may have been the first astrologer to try to create a body of research in astrology. Unfortunately, Gauquelin and other early scientific astrologers had not yet disentangled themselves from the belief that birth times are reliable and can therefore be used in statistical research. Enter the PC: Much larger data pools could be analyzed, making broader research logistically possible.

Enter the Magi: Whether there really was an ancient Chinese legacy society or just a man who saw astrology with new eyes may not matter. What they or he saw matters very much. The advances made to the body of astrological knowledge are incalculable and changed the game entirely. A system not reliant on birth times tightened up data, making valid research results achievable. For the first time, there was the possibility that astrology could be reliable enough to become an consistent tool with real-world applications.

Helena became a paid protégée in 1999 and was certified as a Level IV Magi Astrologer in 2002. Helena was the 3rd of the original ‘Big 4’ Level IV Magi during the Society’s heyday and did research for him/them for more than a decade. Independent of the Society, Helena began development of her first proprietary algorithms in 2015, and left the Society in 2022.

Kevin McCorry, 4th Magi of the Big 4, partnered with Helena in a volunteer effort on behalf of the Society beginning in 2013 to develop curricula and teach a Magi study program. Through their online course materials and teleconferences, they taught more than 120 students over 9 years. Kevin left the Society in 2023.

Helena and Kevin began collaborative research outside of the Society when they first teamed up and the collab continues. Kevin has generously served as a consultant and advisor to the development of the system now christened Genesis Astrology. He’s a humble guy but in truth, through this long collab, he’s in many ways a co-founder of Genesis Astrology and deserves much credit.
